DON'T PANIC, TRUST HIS WORD

In all the Gospel accounts of the life of Christ, there isn't a place where we read of Him fretting or panicking over anything. Jesus was in complete control in every situation, when they ran out of wine, he provided, when the demon possessed, the sick and the maimed met Him, He healed them and set them free. He turned a funeral procession into a celebration of life, He fed thousands with but a handful of fish and bread.

When He spoke something, He meant it There was never a time where He said “oops, I didn't meant that” or anything similar. He spoke healing and it happened, He cursed a fig tree and it dried up. His disciples witnessed all this and believed in Him. They knew His were not empty words, but words full of power; they could stake their lives on His words and they did that eventually.

So one day after a time of ministry this is what Jesus says to His disciples:

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” - Mark 4: 35 NIV

They set out to go to the other side and Jesus went with them in the boat, we all know what happened, a storm arose and “waves broke over the boat”, now mind you, some of these disciples were fishermen, so I’d assume they had spent many hours at sea and had had to face storms at some point but this time around they were all terrified, and n the middle of that anxiety and panic riddled atmosphere, Christ was comfortably sleeping in the stern of the boat.

Jesus never panicked about anything. He was fast asleep in the boat when the storm hit; the disciples were frantic and in full panic mode when they woke Him up. Another thing, notice how they even accused Him of not caring about them...unbelievable...He's right there with them in the same boat! He wasn't woken up by the storm, He wasn't bothered by it, He had already told them they were going "over to the other side" His words were absolute, “Let us go over to the other side” not “Let’s try to get to the other side” or anything like that. Let us be reminded that our God upholds ALL THINGS by the Word of His power!(Hebrews 1: 3)

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” - Mark 4: 39 - 40 NIV

Jesus rebuked the winds and ordered the waves to behave, He wondered why they STILL didn't have faith, they had seen Him perform many miracles. He expected them to believe His words "Let us go over to the other side" as faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10: 17) And all His promises are yeah and amen to us.

Up to that point, none of Jesus’ words had failed, so the disciples didn't have an excuse not to believe Him, they should have believed Him all the way…well, that’s easy for us to say. How many times do we listen to the lies of the enemy of our souls and find ourselves doing the exact same thing? We start doubting God and His Word and we even accuse Him of not caring about us. Now, that's the path doubt and unbelief want to take us down and cause us to cast away our confidence in His love for us.

Let us be reminded that the Word of God has been tried and tested and it is forever settled in Heaven. Whenever you are tempted to doubt your Father’s Word or His promises to you, may the Holy Spirit quicken Romans 3:4 within you.
·No [Absolutely not; May it never be]! ·God will continue to be true even when every person is false [L Let God be true and every person a liar]. As the Scriptures say:
“So you will be ·shown to be right [justified] ·when you speak [L in your words],  and you will ·win your case in court [L prevail when you are judged; or prevail when you judge (sin)].” Romans 3:4 EXB

Hold on to His promises, believe Him and believe His Word. Fill your heart with His promises to you, meditate on them, confess them, let your heart overflow with His promises to you.

No matter how bleak the situation looks in the natural, you willl not drown, you will get to the other side safely, Remember He is in you and He is with you! You are going over, not under!
