The Word of God re-assures us that God does not give us, His children,
fear. According to many Bible scholars, there are at least 365 instances in the
Bible where the phrases “fear not” or “do not fear” or a variation of either
one, appear in both the Old and the New Testaments. We can therefore decisively
conclude that our Heavenly Father does not want us to live in fear, and that
fear is a work of the enemy of our souls – the devil.
The Word of God says:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
Fear is a work of the enemy, it’s aim is to paralyze and cripple our walk
of faith and cause us to walk in unbelief. Fear seeks to rob us of our trust in
the Lord and His Word. Fear, if entertained will eventually destroy us both spiritually and physically. Fear is living with the expectation of evil to
befall us for whatever reason. To live in fear is to live in vexation of one’s soul.
A life full of fear is simply a torturous existence.
Almost always, fear is a result of not knowing how your Heavenly Father
sees you and also not knowing Him, not knowing His person and character.
Religion is one tool that the devil has used and is still using to hold people
in bondage to fear. Religion, just like the Law of Moses, will always show you
how sinful you are and what you really deserve – punishment and death! And with threats of punishment and death hanging over one’s head, fear gains access and control over people's lives.
The Good News is, God has made a way for us to be free from all forms of
fear of punishment for our sins; through faith in Christ and His perfect
sacrifice of Himself on that rugged cross, we are made completely, absolutely,
totally, eternally righteous before God. And by the blood of Jesus, we can come
boldly before the Father as His holy children. Through faith in Christ we have
eternal life, we've passed from death into life. Good News, we are justified by
believing in Jesus, not by the Law (Romans 10:4)
17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives
out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one
who fears is not made perfect in love. – 1 John 4:17-18 NIV
Rest
assured, your Abba Father loves you unconditionally, there is nothing you can
do to make Him love you more, there’s nothing you can do to make Him love you
less. His love for you is perfect and that perfect love is what drives out fear
from our hearts. The punishment that we deserved was taken by Christ our Lord
and Savior on the cross so we can fully enjoy the love the Father had for
us all along. His love is what gives us the confidence to fearlessly face the
day of judgement because as Christ is (completely and eternally loved by the Father), so are we in this world. Think about that for a minute…
Do not entertain any fearful thoughts the enemy sends your way. The Holy
Spirit within you is your source of power,
your source of love and of a sound mind too. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers
us to overcome and reject the enemy's often convoluted fear mongering tactics.
It is the Holy Spirit in us who reveals the perfect love of God to us,
and as we receive and believe in the Father’s perfect love that is revealed to us
and in us, fear has no choice but to flee. This same love is shed abroad in our
hearts... again by the Holy Spirit (Romans
5:5).

Yet again, it is the Holy Spirit who also equips us with a sound mind,
that is the mind of Christ which results in peace, calmness, clarity,
discipline and self-control. Once we know and believe that our Heavenly Father
loves us dearly, unconditionally and eternally we will be free from the fear of
rejection if we don’t perform, we will instead be busy enjoying His love for us
and in doing so we’ll find ourselves being more effective and productive in our
lives and ministries.
These three - power, love and a sound mind will overcome and cast out
fear every single time! Send fear packing as you appreciate and enjoy the
reality of your Father’s unending love for you as revealed by the Holy Spirit within you today!
Much blessings to you beloved!
