For we live by faith, not by sight. - 2
Corinthians 5:7 NIV

The Word of God is our guide, our blueprint for life, not our circumstances and certainly not what we can
perceive with our senses. Our senses are limited, they are temporal and they
fluctuate often. The Word of God has been tried and tested and it is forever
settled in heaven, it is as sure as sure can be. This is the same Word that
became flesh and dwelt among us as John the apostle was inspired by the Holy Spirit
to record:
In the beginning
was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. – John 1:1 NIV
14 The
Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the
glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and
truth. – John 1:14 NIV
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the written Word will reveal and
unveil the Living Word to us and that revelation will meet us at our point of
need. Remember when Jesus was being tempted by the devil, the devil tempted him
to turn stones into bread but our Lord, the Living Word, though he was
physically hungry and would’ve perhaps been justified in turning stones into
bread so He could eat, knew better, His response was:
4 But
He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and
sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of
God. – Matthew 4:4 AMP
There you have it, as a child of God, your life is not to be taken
hostage by the needs or cravings of your five senses; your life is dependent on
every Word that God speaks to you. He has given you His Word for what you are facing right now, believe it and rest in Him. In His Word there is every
provision we will ever need. We are to live according to His Word, not according to what we see. What is seen is temporal, what is unseen is eternal.
His Word is unchanging, it is steadfast and it is eternal, it has no expiry
date, on the contrary, your circumstances have a beginning and an end, they are
temporal, they are ever changing and fleeting, they are soon to become history.

Jesus said "Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not
pass away" (Matthew 24:35) He also said "I am the Way, the
Truth and the Life…"(John 14:6). Truth is eternal, facts are
temporal and subject to the Truth. Living by faith is believing what He says to
us regardless of what we may perceive with our five senses. And the good part is, even the faith that we have is not of our own, it is a gift from God, it is the faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20)
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17) Jesus, the Living Word is in you, as you hear what He is saying to you, as you pay attention to His word, your faith is quickened and it is only then that you can boldly hold on in the face of adversity and see His promises come to pass. To hear what God is saying to you, make spending time with Him a priority. He is more eager to speak to you than you are to hear Him speak, He knows you intimately, get to know Him intimately too. He is actually speaking to you this very moment, reassuring you of His love, His grace, His provision and protection.

Your Heavenly Father is for you, not against you, hold on to every Word
He speaks to you, for His Word contains within itself the power to bring it to
pass, none of His promises to you will fail.
Believe His Word and keep walking
by faith.
